Laser Eyes!

About Laser Eyes

Lasers are awesome, and shooting lasers from your eyes is more awesome. Unfortunately, shooting lasers from your eyes in real life is currently impossible. Let’s help you make yourself a little bit more awesome!

Upload a photo by dragging-and-dropping it onto the website and Laser Eyes! will figure out where the eyes on the photo are. Then it draws lasers from them. Zap!

Laser Eyes! was conceived by Kilian Valkhof, who subsequently press-ganged recruited Paul Chaplin and later Marcel Hekking to help build this site.

It will only work in recent browsers that support the File API and the Drag-and-Drop API. (Firefox and Google Chrome). Your browser does, congrats! does not :( We'll add in support for Safari and Opera soon.

How does it work? Magic?!

Exactly.

Oh come on, tell us!

…oh alright. When you drag a photo onto the site, we upload it to our server (which is hosted by the Awesome ep.io). There we figure out where the eyes are using OpenCV, and the site then draws lasers on your image. We don't save your image, so once you've made a photo, you have to do that yourself.

Oooh, can you add…

We can! And we even might! Here's some things we want to add in the future:

If you have ideas, please send them to contact@laserey.es.

What other cool stuff do you guys do?

We're glad you asked! Paul and Kilian collaborate on Trimage, a small program for web developers to compress their images. We've used it on this site too.

Don't forget you can also hire the three of us! ;)
